SPRING 08 REPORT!

OFFSHORE
The Winter and early Spring was dotted pretty heavily with wind. The fish bite when we could make it out with decent weather, was great. We had a couple of King catches that bordered fifty pounds, and one over fifty. But, we were, like everyone else hampered by weather. I guess we shouldn't complain though, we didn't have near the bad weather that the North had. We just had some wind. But as the Spring wore on, the weather got really nice and the fish co-operated nicely also. We have seen a good start again of Yellowtail Snapper. This is very comferting because for several years we have not seen these Snapper in any numbers, in our area. The Kingfish season was split up because wind and weather, but we can't complain about that either, because it is lengthening the season catch of trophy Kings. Mangrove Snapper is eating well most of the time, we have caught a number of Hogfish also on shrimp. The Little Tuny (false albicore) have been coming in better numbers and OH, what a fight. We are landing quite a good number of Cobia around forty pounds and over. We have landed quite a number of large Shark also and this really brings some ooos and aaaahs from the delighted customers, and some great eating also. The Dolphin are turning up in increasing numbers also, and this is always a great sight and fight. Over all we are just having a great time on the water. The weather is co-operating and the fish are hungry, so come on out and have a ball landing Trophy fish.
