OFFSHORE 2004 was a year of greatness and disaster for Florida. But all is well now, and we are back to doing the things we have always done, Making Florida the Sportfish capitol of the world. While the Northwest winds held back the Kings due to low water temperature in March, April begain with a bang. The late start of our King season seemed to make it a late ending also. Of course we never stop fishing for Kings. We still get some huge ones in the Summer, and again the fall. However, we were acosted by hurricanes this last fall, and bad weather seemed to follow us right on through the year, slowing our fall and early Winter season a bit. But the Snapper were in good form, The Black Sea Bass were unusually large and fat, also quite plentiful this year. Although we didn't break our last years King records, we are looking forward to this springs Kings to get that 70+ pounder. The Spanish Mackeral were huge this year, I mean we had some 31 to 32 inches long, also fat. They were also great fighters, they had some real body bulk. The Cobia were about usual but not huge. We landed a lot of big Bull and Blacktip Shark, and limited on Blacknose almost every day. Over all we were very satisfied with the fishing in 2004. Of course we could have done without the weather late in the year, but I guess you have to have that once in awhile. We are now getting ready for our big King season in March. Get your reservations in early.
