Sailfish are rare on the Suncoast, unless you wish to travel a long way into deep waters.
This Sail landed by angler Mr. Hugh O'Neill of Wasdworth, Ohio. It was an 8 footer, and the largest one we
know of taken in the shallow waters of the Centeral West Coast of Florida. It was taken 11 mile West of Longboat Pass
(about 50ft. of water) on a freelined Spanish Sardine. We were bait drifting for early fall Kingfish. The fight was
58 minutes of the most beautiful tail walks and long reel searing runs an angler could ask for. Our Mate was
Mr. Kyle Eldridge of Bradenton, FL. Our hats off to Hugh who did a great job of angling this beautiful fish.
Landed on "HAPPY HOOKER ONE CHARTERS".
